Dear Friends
Thank you so much for your support with regards to XM. It would appear that this battle is not completely over, but in the near term, it's on life support.
We heard on Friday from Jeremy Coleman, Vice President of Talk and Entertainment Programming at Sirius/XM Radio, that they made every effort to find a channel where we would fit but as of now that wasn't possible. I have not heard a word from Premiere/Clear Channel who programs channels 165 and 158.
As many of you know, I have been programmed on XM by Premiere for 7 years. I became part of Clear Channel's programming when it was extraordinarily difficult for them to persuade traditional broadcasters to appear on the satellite. I provided program for them without charge for 7 years. This is their way of rewarding that loyalty. I guess that's the way some businesses are run today.
I am so grateful for you guys who were so generous in supporting me during this brief affair. I will never forget the complementary things you said in regard to you listening to the program for these many years. As far as I know we will still be on channel 158 for 1 hour rather than 4. It is possible that Sirius/XM will find another channel where we can be carried. It occurs to me in this time of financial stress, what the country does not need is another political talking head. That is what Premiere is offering on channel 158 from 6-9 eastern. However, the folks at Premiere seem to feel this is in their best interest and it is their business enterprise.
In any event, we will provide the show on the Internet as well as on our loyal local stations across the country. You may go to our website www.brucewilliams.com get all the details there as well as the archived/podcasts shows. Once again I have no adequate way of expressing my thanks. I am very grateful for your support and the wonderful things you said about the program. At this point, we will have to see where we go from here.
One other thought. The XM channel provided a significant number of callers and of course call volume is necessary for quality programming. You might bear that in mind and give us a call when something comes up that you would like to discuss or a problem you are having. You may call any weekday evening from 7-10 Eastern. Until we have an occasion to chat again, we will see you on our many terrestrial stations, on the Internet, archived/podcast shows, and from 9-10 in the evening Monday-Friday on XM channel 158.
From the bottom of my heart my thanks.
Very Cordially,
Bruce H. Williams
